ImTyping

What does ImTyping mean?

ImTyping is a purple speech bubble with three dots. Someone is typing. Chat posts it when a streamer is staring at chat about to answer, when they themselves are about to send a paragraph, or as a 'hold on' that does not require the word hold. It is the official typing indicator you can drop on purpose.

Origin

The art matches Twitch's own chat bubble, which is why it sits next to imGlitch, the broken version of that bubble. ImTyping is the healthy one. The code capitalizes the T: ImTyping. Post it when the pause is the message.

When to use ImTyping

• A streamer reading chat before they answer
• Warning that a long message is incoming
• Holding a joke for one extra second
• Not as a substitute for the actual message, unless the stall is the bit
